THE PROMISE (2010/2011)
›The promise is a work about an unheld promise and about existence vs. non-existence.
From July 2010 until October 2010 I received five winning notifications via email.
The total winning-amount was about 7.003.518,36€. The promise about the money was made but it was nothing else
than a catchpenny promise, just a virtual one. Unfortunately I never received the cash, of course I didn‘t.
To turn the worthless promise into a ›real one‹ the five winning-notifications were printed in letterpress
printing. The mass-mails were transfered into unique copies by using an old fashioned printing technique
which started hundred years ago the mass-publication. So there is a reminder left that makes me think of a promise.
